We are convinced that this model can be expanded to benefit millions more. While this approach has been prevalent in the UK for two centuries, its full potential remains untapped. Our mission at Roost is to address the housing crisis, which we believe is both solvable and essential to tackle.
We are in search of a Co-Founder Associate to collaborate closely with our founding team as we strive to achieve our goal of 1 million co-op homes. This role presents a distinctive chance to fundamentally transform a flawed market. As the pioneering technology startup harnessing the unique advantages of co-operative legal structures, we have successfully secured funding to propel our next initiatives.

- Business Development | Experimenting with and expanding new revenue streams while ensuring robust unit economics. These initiatives will lay the groundwork for our mission to resolve the housing crisis.
- Product Enhancement | Evaluating user experiences and identifying opportunities to automate manual processes through our product strategy. Collaborating with our customers to map out new features, such as a quadratic voting system for budget allocation on home improvements.
- Member Engagement | Engaging with Roost co-ops and their members to identify areas for enhancing user experience, developing useful tools, and discovering new funding avenues.
- Home Acquisition | Assisting in the search for and securing new Roost homes, which often entails conducting rapid research and budget assessments to negotiate optimal deals for our members.
We anticipate that a successful Co-Founder Associate will evolve into a more senior operational position.
What We Provide:- Competitive salary of £45-55k plus share options
- Annual company retreat
- 28 days of annual leave in addition to bank holidays and your birthday off
- Personal development budget (£1,000) and technology budget (£2,000)
- Generous parental leave policies: 16 weeks paid leave for primary caregivers and 8 weeks for secondary caregivers
We value both in-person collaboration and flexibility; our team typically works together 2-3 days a week and enjoys communal lunches. On other days, we work remotely or meet in smaller groups.
About Roost:Our platform simplifies the process for renters to unite and access the legal, financial, and social advantages of co-operative housing. Roost serves as a hub for finding ideal homes and navigating the journey of taking ownership of those homes. We collaborate with property owners and debt financiers to support the next phase of co-operative living.
Once settled in, our platform assists co-operatives in managing their homes, transparently overseeing shared finances, and fulfilling commitments to members and regulatory bodies. This housing model offers renters enhanced freedom and security, accompanied by increased responsibility and thoughtfulness. While we cannot perform the work for our members, we are dedicated to creating tools that facilitate their efforts.
