Vickerstock is partnering with a leading Food Manufacturing company to fill the role of Quality Assurance Manager. This company is committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality and integrity in all its operations.

The successful candidate will report to the Technical Manager and work within a dynamic department to ensure that all products meet customer expectations and maintain Food Safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the Quality Manual and systems to the required BRC standard, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers regarding any quality or food safety issues, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Liaise with the supply base to ensure compliance with supplier approval criteria, fostering strong relationships with key partners.
  • Supervise and manage the QA staff and Hygiene staff, providing guidance and support to ensure team success.
  • Ensure that all QA records are completed, recorded, and filed accurately, maintaining a high level of data integrity.
  • Work with the Production Manager and Supervisors to ensure that all production activities meet the required standards, driving continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Management Team to ensure technical audits are managed effectively, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Understand the role of the Technical Manager and be able to deputise, demonstrating leadership skills and adaptability.
  • Display a proactive approach to quality improvement initiatives, driving innovation and excellence within the organization.
  • Have an active role within the HACCP team, including updating risk assessments, hazard analysis, and product flows, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Collect samples and analyze microbiological results, providing accurate and timely data to inform decision-making.
  • Deal with customer complaints in a timely and professional manner, resolving issues and maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Manage the equipment calibration schedule, ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Deal with day-to-day quality issues and resolve anomalies, providing solutions and recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure all corrective actions are implemented and monitored, maintaining a high level of quality and integrity.

Requirements:

  • Clean UK/EU driving license, with a valid license to operate a company vehicle.
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience working in a Quality/Technical role, with a strong understanding of industry regulations and standards.
  • Third-level qualification, such as a Degree or HNC/D in a relevant food-related discipline, demonstrating a strong foundation in quality and technical principles.
  • Ability to effectively plan and organize to meet deadlines, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
