Lead Our Engineering Team to Success

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Shift Team Leader to join our dynamic team at ARMS Innovations Ltd. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in the monitoring, maintenance, improvement, and control of our production, automation, and plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure production targets are consistently met every shift.
  • Operational performance: By safe, effective management and development of the engineering team on site, supporting the Site Engineering Supervisor and Engineering Manager in the implementation of Maintenance Excellence.
  • Provide emergency breakdown and support on all equipment and software, managing issues and adhering to the internal escalation process and procedures.
  • Control maintenance activities on site, speed of response, quality of repair, and standards of workmanship.
  • Maintain Quality of Service by ensuring high-quality communications to all stakeholders and ensuring that reports are well written and legible.
  • Undertake analysis of CMMS data to assist forward planning for CI opportunities.
  • Implement strategies for ongoing process and performance enhancement.
  • Accurately document and report any issues encountered during shifts.
  • Manage the day-to-day running of the team, including delivery of performance reviews, development, and coaching of team members, dealing with employee relations issues, employee welfare, and wellbeing, approving holiday bookings, and holding return-to-work meetings.
  • Assist with coaching of new or less experienced team members and encourage them to achieve their best by identification of individual training requirements.
Requirements:
  • Relevant engineering experience (Minimum NVQ Level 3), equivalent, or transferable skills.
  • Full and legal rights to work in the UK.
  • Previous experience as a Multi-Skilled Electrical/Mechanical Engineer with a strong technical knowledge in relevant fields.
  • Able to understand the importance and principles of an advanced Quality Management System.
  • Experience with industrial networks and control systems.
  • Computer literate, MS Office/CMMS systems.
  • Preferably Multi-Skilled Electrical/Mechanical with a strong technical knowledge in relevant fields such as Mechanical, Electrical, Automation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Ex-forces Electrical/Engineer with BTEC/HNC/HND/C&G or Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Proven history of strength in people leadership and development with experience managing skilled engineering teams.
  • Previous knowledge and understanding of the importance and relevance of a Quality Management System.
