Maintenance Engineer

A leading food manufacturing business in Manchester is seeking a highly skilled Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their Engineering team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for proactive and reactive maintenance duties within a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Complete planned mechanical and electrical maintenance, fault finding, and breakdown repairs, installation, and modification to plant and services.
- Maintain and repair plant and equipment to high Engineering, Quality, Safety, and Hygiene standards.
- Ensure all Engineering work is carried out in an efficient and effective manner, in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice, Health and Safety Legislation, and current Company Standards.
- Fault diagnose and complete breakdown repairs of process equipment, packaging equipment, and site services.
- Undertake training and up-skilling programmes as directed by business needs and to keep abreast of technological advancements and maintain skill level.
- Facilitate a speedy response to all plant stoppages and help plan/implement modifications to new and existing equipment.
- Ensure an in-depth handover is provided to the oncoming shift, including Engineering, manufacturing & warehouse issues.
- Be available to cover for holidays and sickness with appropriate notice.
- Previous experience of working within a food/FMCG manufacturing environment.
- Time served apprenticeship in an engineering discipline, holding an Electrical engineering HND/HNC/BTech/ONC/C and G Level 3 qualifications or higher.
- Degree/HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering.
