Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated individual for the role of an unqualified Science Educator within a secondary SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) educational setting. This institution supports young individuals facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
Role Responsibilities
This position is ideal for those aspiring to gain teaching experience, particularly those with a background in leading sessions related to physical education, life skills, or pastoral care for youth.
All students enrolled possess an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP), which will serve as a reference during instructional activities. The teaching schedule encompasses approximately 14 lessons, including physical education, cover assignments, PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic education), and select Science classes for students aged 11 to 16 years.
Student Support
Many students may come from underprivileged backgrounds or experience mental health challenges that can lead to difficult behavior. Therefore, it is essential to be equipped to manage such behavior effectively while providing mentorship and pastoral support to these young individuals.
