Job Summary:

The Plant Operator will assist in the day-to-day operation of the plant for the receipt, treatment, and disposal of clinical waste, ensuring maximum plant availability and productivity in accordance with company operational procedures and legislative obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Unload vehicles and trailers (site specific)
  • Effectively manoeuvre waste on the plant and weigh containers
  • Ensure waste containers are emptied, cleaned, and readily available for collection
  • Coordinate paperwork and reception of all deliveries to the plant, including suppliers and contractors
  • Oversee safe handling of waste into containers by deliverers
  • Operate fork lift truck if required
  • Participate in plant shutdowns as necessary
  • Maintain company operational records and data specific to the job function
  • Draw attention to management of major defects, concerns, or problems with equipment or building
  • Work under the direction of and assist the Shift Supervisor and Plant Manager in duties during breakdowns or controlled stoppages
  • Observe and comply with all safety notices and signs, and ensure all work is carried out in a safe and proper manner
  • Attend training courses or instruction specific to the job as required
  • Perform additional duties as necessary to ensure safe compliance and continuation of operations
  • Comply with company health and safety procedures
