Cost Estimator Specialist

Location: Manchester

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Cost Estimator Specialist to become part of the team at Galliford Try.

Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking a skilled Contract Estimator to oversee and acquire the subcontract packages, while also gaining the experience necessary to advance to a senior estimator role and play a vital part in the Surveying teams for years to come. Familiarity with JCT contracts and experience in managing and acquiring various trade subcontract packages is essential. You will assist in the Main Contract Valuation and the Monthly Cost reports.

  • Evaluation of tender allowances
  • The measurement and assessment of works (on-site and from drawings), for valuations, variations, and final accounts.
  • Agreement on valuation dates and preparing, submitting interim valuations in accordance with those dates.
  • Administering and/or advising on Main Contract and Subcontract conditions
  • Subcontract and Design Procurement
  • Subcontract payments, variations, and final accounts
  • Assisting with Cost Value Reconciliations
  • Preparation of cost to complete
  • Cash management and maximization
  • Cash Flow and Turnover forecast
  • Provision of standard reports
  • Assisting with Internal Valuations/CVRs and subcontract liability reports in accordance with schedule of accounting period end dates and deadlines

Candidate Profile:

  • Experience in the Construction industry with a main contractor, particularly in Design and Build, along with a solid understanding of JCT Contracts.
