Job SummaryThe Technical Sales Engineer will lead and manage technical, environmental, and cost-related activities prior to contract award. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical and/or electrical engineering requirements for our core products, including solar, CHP, and heat pump installations.
Key Responsibilities- Review clients' tenders and requirements for power and heating energy infrastructure packages and outline technical solutions.
- Survey clients' sites to identify suitable technical solutions and delivery risks.
- Arrange and facilitate client site surveys with specialist external contractors.
- Collect, treat, and analyse client data affecting technical solutions and their associated costs and environmental credentials.
- Deliver engineering outline design and sizing for technical solutions and associated energy, costs, and environmental benefits.
- Populate and drive our technical, cost, and environmental models and software.
- Coordinate and review specialist external contractors' inputs into the models.
- Support sales meetings with clients and lead on technical aspects.
- Focus activities to ensure optimum sales velocity across project life cycle stages.
- Lead continuous improvement processes to improve our engineering, cost, and environmental models.
- Contribute to reviewing innovative technologies enhancing our commercial value chain.
- Proven experience in coordinating internal engineering resources and managing relationships with external contractors and installers.
- Strong understanding of HSE regulations for energy infrastructure projects and knowledge of project financing methods and commercial structures.
- Strong IT skills for collecting, analysing, and manipulating energy data and experience in developing and delivering onsite generation strategies.
- Ability to assess opportunities within a broader context and identify risks and potential benefits.
