Job Title: Complex Needs Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a brilliant Special school in the Chippenham area.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant to work with a KS1 class, providing general classroom support and 1-1 work with students who have complex needs, including ASD, PMLD, SLD, and SEMH.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with special needs and disabilities, ideally in a school setting, and be able to provide regular training and support to students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide general classroom support in a KS1 class, supporting the teacher with whatever they need.
  • Offer regular 1-1 support to students with complex needs.
  • Be adaptable and flexible around the needs of the pupils.
  • Have experience of working with SEMH/ASD.
  • Feel confident in dealing with challenging behaviour.
  • Support students on a personal level as well as educational.
