Senior Warehouse Operative Job Description

Welcome to Taylor Whitmore Limited, a leading provider of innovative solutions. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Warehouse Operative to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Warehouse Team Leader in managing daily warehouse operations, ensuring seamless execution of tasks and efficient use of resources.
  • Deputize for the Team Leader during absences, maintaining continuity of service and upholding high standards of quality and safety.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment, adhering to company protocols and regulations.
  • Motivate and engage with warehouse operatives, stock control, and admin teams, fostering a positive and productive work culture.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of orders for dispatch, and correct storage of materials to minimize losses and optimize inventory levels.
  • Report unplanned absences and ensure punctuality, advising the Line Manager of any issues that may impact operations.
  • Safeguard company assets, including security passes, equipment, and uniforms, maintaining a high level of security and integrity.
  • Promote a proactive and positive approach within the team, maintaining healthy working relationships and contributing to a collaborative work environment.
  • Travel as needed to other locations for specified tasks or meetings, representing the company with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Perform additional duties as required by management, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 GCSEs grade A-C or equivalent, demonstrating a strong foundation in core subjects.
  • Counterbalance Licence (RTITB/ITSAR), ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • ILM Level 3, demonstrating a high level of expertise and knowledge in leadership and management.
  • Intermediate Excel skills, enabling effective data analysis and reporting.
  • Pivot Steer Licence (RTITB/ITSTAR), enhancing operational efficiency and productivity.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Proven competence in dealing with customers, including handling difficult situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and telephone manner, ensuring effective communication and resolution of issues.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (e.g., JDA), optimizing inventory management and supply chain operations.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

This role is Monday to Friday 6am-3pm, offering a stable and predictable schedule.
