An exciting opportunity has arisen for Patient Services Assistants to join our team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This role will involve working as part of an integrated team, guided by local and Trust policy and procedure, to provide high-quality patient care and support.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Supporting patients with their nutrition needs, including taking on the role of 'nutrition coordinator' at mealtimes and liaising with nursing staff to ensure patients are ready to eat.
- Assisting patients at mealtimes and helping them with food where appropriate.
- Working alongside nursing staff to promote 'first a drink' and helping patients with drinks to support hydration.
- Supporting patients to complete their menus and ensuring that the correct menus are ordered.
- Completing food and fluid charts and escalating concerns to nursing staff.
- Keeping nutrition boards up to date.
