Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our Specialist Child and Adolescent Inpatient Service at Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear (CNTW) NHS Foundation Trust.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will provide occupational therapy services to young people aged 13-18 with a range of mental health difficulties, including learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and neurodevelopmental conditions.
Main Responsibilities- Provide occupational therapy assessments and interventions to young people with learning disabilities
- Develop and deliver evidence-based occupational therapy interventions in collaboration with service users and carers
- Work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure high-quality, individualized care
- Provide clinical supervision to staff members as delegated by Clinical Leads
- Embed a client-centered philosophy into clinical practice and client-centered collaborative care

Person Specification- Recognized Occupational Therapy degree qualification (BSc or MSc)
- Registered with HCPC
- Member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapy (desirable)
- Experience of working with service users and carers in successful delivery of intervention plans
- Previous experience of working in an inpatient setting (desirable)
- Knowledge of working in a mental health setting
- Previous experience of working with patients with learning disabilities
- Proven ability to communicate interventions to service users and demonstrate effective written and communication skills
- Skills in assessing and managing risk
- Commitment to using research skills in practice (desirable)
- Commitment to equal opportunities and a positive attitude to combating stigma
- Effective team working
