Commercial IP and Branding Lawyer

We are seeking an experienced Associate Solicitor to join our Branding and Advertising team at Sheridans. The successful candidate will have a strong background in commercial IP law and a passion for working with creative agencies, production companies, and top brands.
Key Responsibilities- Advising on commercial IP matters relating to content, including production, exploitation, and distribution on various platforms.
- Brand work, including advising on brand strategy, brand protection, and brand licensing.
- Advising on commercial contracts with agencies and stakeholders in relation to advertising and marketing campaigns.
- Advertising regulatory advisory work, including advising on digital regulation, online safety, and ASA and CMA rules and regulations.
- Advising on publishing, print, and new media matters.
- Advising on sponsorship arrangements, including celebrity endorsements and social media marketing.
- Advising talent managers and talent agencies on business dealings and contracts.
- Advising on shareholders' rights and interests in brand-related transactions.
- Working on supply chain matters, including merchandise production and fulfillment, manufacturing agreements, and e-commerce arrangements.
- Brand enforcement and prosecution work, including drafting cease and desist letters and working with our trade mark department and litigation department.
- Domain name disputes, including advising on and dealing with related proceedings and settlement.
- Dispute resolution in respect to breach of contract, including drafting letters before action and advising on litigation and alternative dispute resolution strategies.
- Reputation management in relation to brands and talent, including dealing with trade mark infringements, passing-off, and false endorsements.
- At least 3-6 years of post-qualification experience in commercial IP law.
- A methodical approach to work with a strong focus on accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience liaising with senior internal stakeholders.
- Enthusiasm, resilience, and a professional approach, with an excellent customer service ethic.
- Ability to liaise with, persuade, and influence colleagues at all levels.
- Ability to remain organized, prioritize, and multitask, particularly when managing a large workload under pressure.
- Ability to work confidentially and remain discreet at all times.
- Flexibility towards working out of regular hours at busy times.
- Qualified as a Solicitor in England and Wales.
