About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at Elysium Healthcare. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our service users, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring efficient and effective food preparation and service.
  • Maintain good food storage procedures and stock rotation, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Prepare, plan, and cook meals to a consistently high standard, taking into account any special requests or dietary requirements.
  • Serve food and beverages in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Prepare and produce food for conferences and banquets, demonstrating creativity and attention to detail.
  • Participate in food costings through effective cost control procedures, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
  • Adhere to 'Safer Food Better Business' standards and record-keeping, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Adhere strictly to Food Hygiene Regulations and other safety procedures at all times.
  • Take full shift responsibility for the catering operation, ensuring seamless service delivery.
  • Assist the Head Chef in researching and creating new menus, ensuring meals meet high-quality standards and align with healthy eating guidelines.
  • Correctly file all paperwork related to the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point system (HACCP), including fridge temperatures, food temperature logs, and cleaning schedules.
Requirements
  • Be 18 years or older.
  • Hold GCSE or equivalent English.
  • Hold City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 (or equivalent) Basic Food Preparation Cooking.
  • Hold Basic Food Hygiene (essential).
  • Hold Intermediate Food Hygiene (desirable).
  • Have previous experience in a similar environment.
  • Have previous experience in delivering a service on mass.
  • Have menu planning, costing, ordering, stock control, and budget experience.
