Progress Teachers Ltd is seeking an experienced Behaviour Mentor to support pupils with challenging behaviours in a mainstream secondary school.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to foster positive student behaviour.
  • Provide one-on-one or small-group interventions to address behavioural challenges.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to develop and implement behaviour support plans.
  • Assist students with academic tasks and offer additional support as needed.
  • Work closely with teachers to adapt learning materials and activities to meet individual student needs.
  • Monitor and record student progress, collaborating with the teaching team to address learning gaps.
  • Build positive relationships with students to promote emotional well-being.
  • Provide a safe and nurturing environment for students to express themselves in.
  • Recognise and respond to the social and emotional needs of students.
  • Liaise with pastoral and safeguarding teams to address bullying concerns or negative behaviours.
  • Log all safeguarding concerns accurately and securely for reporting and actioning.
Requirements:
  • Prior experience preferred but open to individuals with transferable skills from roles such as Youth Work, Family Support Worker, and Children's Residential Support Worker.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and support staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting academic and emotional development.
