Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Highway Structures Design Engineer to join our team at Matchtech. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality designs and assessments for highway structures projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out safety and welfare duties to ensure a safe working environment
  • Prepare detailed analysis and calculations using software such as LUSAS
  • Provide expert advice and engineering knowledge to deliver projects successfully
  • Prepare sketches of engineering solutions and review the work of others
  • Design, plan, and program highway structures works and services
  • Offer clear and effective project leadership and manage works programmes or services
  • Mentor junior staff in structural design and development of highway structures schemes
  • Review and check the work of team members and assist the team leader as needed
  • Control budgets and ensure financial management
  • Prepare monthly progress reports and programme updates
Requirements
  • Experience in structural design, specifically with bridge and retaining wall structures
  • Proficiency in structural design codes, DMRB, MCHW, and CDM regulations
  • Strong technical analysis skills and the ability to lead a small design team
  • Ability to work within or across a team, delivering structure refurbishment, assessment, and replacement schemes
  • Initiative and a detailed understanding of structural engineering principles
  • Excellent communication skills for mentoring junior staff and ensuring high standards
