Position Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Quality & Laboratory Manager to oversee our Feed Safety and Quality Management systems. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our operations meet the highest standards of compliance and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the Feed Safety and Quality Management systems in accordance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Coordinate and oversee all regulatory, customer, and third-party audits and inspections.
  • Evaluate and approve suppliers based on established criteria and specifications.
  • Assess and approve raw materials to ensure adherence to feed safety and sustainability standards.
  • Maintain and continuously monitor quality system databases to ensure data integrity.
  • Ensure finished product quality and safety by meeting all legal and customer specifications.
  • Design, schedule, and execute internal audit programs, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Deliver training programs on feed safety to ensure staff competency in producing compliant products.
  • Participate in the development and review of the HACCP program.
  • Identify non-conformances and implement corrective and preventative measures.
  • Communicate product deviations and feed safety issues to senior management.
  • Engage with customers regarding product quality and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies on compliance requirements.
  • Manage laboratory operations, including human resources and work routines.
  • Ensure laboratory health and safety procedures are risk assessed and compliant.
  • Implement and maintain laboratory quality control programs.
  • Monitor laboratory data to ensure compliance with sampling plans.
  • Verify the accuracy of laboratory results and ensure timely communication to relevant personnel.
  • Conduct product analysis as needed during staff absences.
  • Oversee laboratory cost management.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Science or Food Science.
  • Experience in technical or quality roles within food or feed manufacturing.
  • Certification in HACCP or Food Safety Management.
  • Proven experience in implementing and managing Quality Management Systems, with knowledge of GFSI standards (e.g., GMP+, BRC, FSSC 22000).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
