The Mechanical Estimator will play a crucial role in formulating precise and competitive estimates for the mechanical components of M&E projects. This position entails scrutinizing project specifications, collaborating with the Electrical Estimator, and ensuring that estimates align with project needs and organizational standards. - Analyze project specifications to generate comprehensive cost estimates for mechanical systems.
- Work closely with the Estimating Manager and Electrical Estimator on project evaluations.
- Gather and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations for pricing and compliance.
- Deliver detailed cost breakdowns and proposals to management and clients.
- Conduct site visits for project information and assessment as required.
- Stay informed about industry standards, trends, and pricing.
- Contribute to the improvement of estimating processes and tools.
- Engage in post-tender reviews and negotiations.
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator in the M&E sector, particularly with heat pumps and boiler systems.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems in commercial projects.
- Proficiency in estimating software and related tools.
- Strong analytical and mathematical capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects efficiently.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
- Willingness to travel for site assessments.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
