Healthcare Assistant

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Healthcare Assistant in our Inpatient Unit at HMP Elmley. As a key member of our integrated healthcare team, you will work closely with nurses, pharmacists, and doctors to provide high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the delivery of nursing care to patients in a prison setting, working in collaboration with registered nurses to ensure the best possible outcomes.
- Work independently for significant periods, taking ownership of patient care and making decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Develop and implement patient-focused health promotion activities and programs, promoting health and well-being in a prison setting.
- Contribute to the development of individualized care plans, working with patients to identify and address their physical, emotional, and social needs.
- Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other stakeholders, demonstrating empathy and understanding in a sensitive and non-judgmental manner.
- Experience in a healthcare setting, with a focus on patient care and support.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
- Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
