Position Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Cardiac Physiologist to join our team, responsible for executing a comprehensive array of advanced cardiological diagnostic assessments.

The successful candidate will operate autonomously in all facets of cardiology, encompassing both invasive and non-invasive techniques.

Additionally, this role includes mentoring trainees and contributing to their professional development.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties - General

  • Execute specific specialized tasks as detailed below.
  • Independently conduct echocardiography, with the ability to generate reports being advantageous.
  • Perform or assist in other advanced procedures, including Stress Echocardiograms and Trans-Oesophageal Echocardiograms.
  • Lead advanced procedures within the Cardiology Department, which includes overseeing technician-led Exercise ECG procedures, Echocardiography, Myoviews, basic pacemaker implantation and follow-up, as well as cardiac catheterization.
  • Carry out all routine procedures within the Cardiology Department, such as ECG, Event recording, ambulatory ECG Holter Monitoring, and 24-hour Blood Pressure monitoring - including setup and analysis.
  • Work independently in the catheter laboratory, performing angiograms and pacemaker implantations.
  • Support the pacing service with clinics, which is desirable.
  • Provide precise technical and factual reports on all procedures mentioned above.
  • Continuously develop and enhance knowledge and clinical competencies.

We are in search of an additional highly skilled cardiac physiologist who will focus on echocardiography or device specialization while also supporting various other service aspects.

The Cardiology Department is part of a multi-disciplinary Clinical Measurement Unit within a bustling community/acute integrated District General Hospital. The department is housed in a state-of-the-art facility that offers a wide range of services, including ECGs, ambulatory ECG and BP monitoring, Exercise ECG with Myoview, Echo Systems with storage and analysis capabilities, Pacemaker implantation and follow-up (including ICDs and CRTs), Angiography, and Treadmill Doppler Studies.

Candidates for this position must possess current BSE TTE accreditation (or equivalent) and/or BHRS, along with experience in all DGH Cardiological procedures, a relevant professional qualification, and ILS/ALS certification. Opportunities for further skill development are available.

Candidate Requirements

Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiology.
