About the Role:

We are seeking a suitably qualified person to take up the exciting role of Instructor in Engineering at Edinburgh College. As an Instructor, you will be responsible for facilitating and delivering workshop practice skills within the Faculty of Engineering, with a strong emphasis on machining skills and/or welding & fabrication from Foundation Skills to SVQ3.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality skills training and education to students
  • Facilitate workshop practice skills, with a focus on machining skills and/or welding & fabrication
  • Develop and maintain expertise in your area of specialization
  • Assess and verify student skills and knowledge

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a time-served industry-qualified operative from the engineering industry, with significant expertise and up-to-date skills in your area. An Assessor's and Verifier's award would be advantageous, but we will support you to achieve this if required.
