Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Retail Operations Manager to oversee the performance and operations of our retail store. The successful candidate will require previous experience in a retail environment and will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the store, driving sales, maximizing profitability, and ensuring operational excellence.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the store, including staffing, inventory management, and customer service.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive sales and maximize profitability.
  • Ensure operational excellence by maintaining high standards of customer service, product knowledge, and store appearance.
  • Manage and motivate a team of retail staff, providing coaching and training to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Monitor and control inventory levels, ensuring that stock is accurately recorded and that stock levels are maintained at optimal levels.
  • Implement and maintain effective systems for managing cash handling, including cash handling procedures and stock control.
  • Ensure that all customer complaints are properly addressed and that all reasonable steps are taken to resolve the complaint to the satisfaction of the customer.
  • Manage and maintain the EPOS system, ensuring that it is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Monitor and control stock levels, ensuring that all stock is accurately recorded and that stock levels are maintained at optimal levels.
  • Implement and maintain effective systems for managing promotions and displays, including the creation and maintenance of promotional materials.
  • Ensure that all staff are aware of and understand the company's policies and procedures, including health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the provision of extended hours service, if required.
  • Ensure a high standard of cleanliness exists throughout the store.
  • Ensure the on-going motivation, welfare and safety of all retail staff.

Requirements:

  • GCSE English & Maths (Grade A-C) or equivalent.
  • Right to work in the UK (proof requested).
  • Previous experience in a similar role in a retail environment.
  • Supervisory/Management experience in a similar role.
  • IT literate (Microsoft Office).
  • Excellent customer service skills and be well presented.
  • Desirable Experience:
    • Experience selling (and an understanding of Premium Fragrance in a retail environment).
    • Staff training experience.
    • Demonstrable leadership skills.
    • Relevant training and qualification from a recognised professional body.
    • Health & Safety.

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and experienced retail professional with a proven track record of delivering excellent customer service and driving sales and profitability. They will be able to demonstrate strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of retail staff. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues alike.
