About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our growing team at MFK Recruitment. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting and leading the development of high-quality, medium-large scale control software applications in LabVIEW for the integration into electromechanical ultrasonic measurement and test systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Software Development: Design, develop, and maintain complex software applications in LabVIEW, ensuring high-quality and reliability.
  • Team Leadership: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior software engineers, enhancing their proficiency in advanced LabVIEW skills.
  • Requirements Capture: Capture and refine complex software requirements for client-facing projects, ensuring accurate and complete understanding of customer needs.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical product support to diverse global clientele, including academic institutions, medical device manufacturers, aerospace and defense firms, and non-destructive testing (NDT) applications.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with internal departments, such as Sensors, to design and implement software components for both new and existing advanced in-house systems, aimed at enhancing manufacturing efficiency and quality control.
  • Documentation: Write and maintain technical software documentation, including user guides and design documents.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in relevant technologies and methodologies.

Requirements:

  • Education: Degree qualified in a STEM discipline.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience designing medium-large scale applications involving hardware integration in LabVIEW.
  • Certifications: Certified LabVIEW Architect (CLA).
  • Agile Experience: 1+ years of experience working within a scrum framework as part of an agile implementation.
  • Version Control: 1+ years of experience working with source code control, specifically Git.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Ultrasound Knowledge: Working knowledge of ultrasound.
  • Motion Control Systems: Experience working with motion control systems.
  • National Instruments Hardware: Experience working with National Instruments (NI) hardware.
  • Leadership Experience: Working within a leadership capacity.
  • Quality Management: Working within a quality management system and to health & safety standards.
