Job Title: Work Permit Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled Work Permit Coordinator to join our team at DSM. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for coordinating all work permit activities related to planned maintenance, emergent work, and project activities in the area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate all work permit activities, ensuring compliance with site procedures and DSM standards.
  • Execute the permit to work process, including approval and issuing of RAPTW, Work at Height, Hot Work, and Confined Space Entry permits via Permit Cliq.
  • Participate in the permit planning process for maintenance and project activities, ensuring effective coordination and execution.
  • Coordinate the execution of all preparatory work by operations, required for efficient and safe handover of the installation to maintenance or projects.
  • Own and maintain padlocks, spades, gas monitors, and other equipment required as part of the permit to work process.
  • Set high standards in Safety Culture & Housekeeping, directing and coaching staff and contractors on safe working practices related to permitted work.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for LSR's relating to permitted tasks, ensuring compliance with DSM standards.
  • Champion compliance with site procedures relating to all permitted activities, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Conduct regular field visits, audits, and spot checks to ensure compliance with DSM standards.
  • Execute and assist with preparations for planned maintenance outages, ensuring a smooth and safe transition.
  • Complete and support with the preparation and approvals of isolation check sheets, LEO forms, and supporting documents.
  • Ensure an effective permit hand-back process is maintained, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed and approved.
  • Ensure permit documentation standards are upheld, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Coordinate safeguarding of plant in preparation for permitted work, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Field checks on permitted activities during the work to ensure mitigation actions are in place as defined by DSM standards.
  • Improve the permit to work process to enhance safety and efficiency, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
  • Own and maintain the Permit Cliq system, ensuring housekeeping, data analysis, and KPI tracking are up-to-date and accurate.

Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years relevant industrial supervisory experience.
  • An HND or equivalent in a relevant subject would be desirable for this position.
  • A proven track record in permit issuing and working with a safety mindset is necessary.
  • Candidates must also demonstrate leadership, teamwork, good communication skills, planning, and organizing.
