Overview

Skilled Careers is collaborating with a reputable Main Contractor seeking a Junior Cost Estimator to join their team.

The ideal candidate should possess experience working with a main contractor on projects valued over £10 million.

This role presents a remarkable opportunity to manage a project from inception to completion and to contribute significantly to a company poised for growth in the region.


Responsibilities

As the Junior Cost Estimator, you will be a vital member of the project team, focusing on all financial aspects.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing procurement processes and overseeing commercial management.
  • Finalizing accounts for commercial projects.
  • Evaluating, reviewing, and mitigating financial and contractual risks.
  • Implementing company policies related to risk management.
  • Preparing and presenting monthly financial reports.
  • Providing commercial and contractual support to the project team.
  • Assessing and valuing work completed by subcontractors.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must have:
  • Experience as a Junior Cost Estimator with a UK main contractor (Essential).
  • A solid background in commercial sectors is advantageous.
  • A proven history of working within a two-stage tender environment in the construction industry.
