About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Public Area Cleaner to join our team at Mercure Exeter Rougemont Hotel. As a key member of our housekeeping team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of all public areas, including the lobby, corridors, stairwells, and guest facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of all public areas, including the lobby, corridors, stairwells, and guest facilities.
  • Clean and replenish guest rooms and amenities in line with company guidelines.
  • Vacuum corridors and stairways, and change and replenish towels and guest amenities.
  • Undertake regular deep cleaning tasks, including restocking and maintaining trolleys.
  • Report any missing or damaged items and take responsibility for ensuring they are replaced or repaired.
  • Ensure all public areas are cleaned and maintained to a high standard.
  • Be environmentally aware and dispose of waste accordingly.
  • Manage guest requests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Comply with hotel security, fire regulations, and all health and safety legislation.
  • Carry out lost property procedures and assist other departments as needed.
Requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects, and stand for long periods.
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning products and equipment.
