Key Responsibilities:
  • Installation of Mechanical and Public Health Pipework: Install mechanical and public health pipework materials, including steel, copper, plastic, and other materials, to suit project design documentation.
  • Installation of Heating and Cooling Systems: Install heating, chilled water, domestic hot and cold water, natural gas, above ground drainage pipework, and valves, using various joining/installation methods.
  • Pressure Testing and Quality Control: Pressure test all pipework systems to ensure quality and safety standards.
  • Installation of Mechanical Plant Items: Install mechanical plant items, including sanitaryware appliances, electric heaters, and other equipment.
  • General Coordination and Liaison: Coordinate and liaise with other trades and sub-contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Relationship Building and Communication: Maintain good relationships with site workers, contractors, and suppliers, and communicate effectively with the project manager and team.
Technical Competencies:
  • NVQ Level 2 Qualification: Hold a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 2 in a mechanical-related discipline.
  • Blue JIB-PMES CSCS Card: Possess a Blue JIB-PMES CSCS card, demonstrating competence in mechanical pipework installation.
  • Industry Safety Knowledge: Have a high standard of installation and understanding of the industry safety environment, pressures, and procedures.
  • Asbestos Awareness: Be familiar with asbestos awareness and procedures.
  • Design Scheme Understanding: Understand design schemes and technical documentation for plant.
