Job Summary

The Admissions Supervisor will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Hospice and Palliative Care services. This position will be responsible for performing daily activities, including informing the Director of Admissions regarding active referral status, risk management issues, treatment modalities, and admission advancement status.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inform the Director of Admissions regarding active referral status, risk management issues, treatment modalities, and admission advancement status.
  • Work with the Customer Experience Center (CXC) department staff to ensure referral information is transmitted accurately and timely to the Admissions staff.
  • Provide prompt, same-day, quality service recovery to an account when required.
  • Function as a positive role model/leader and interdependent team member, assisting the department director in monitoring and reporting quality improvement and corporate compliance initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with documentation and demonstrate ability to use critical thinking skills to solve problems independently.
  • Develop and continually grow positive professional relationships with referral sources, demonstrating knowledge and ensuring compliance to state and federal guidelines for Hospice programs.
  • Attend a minimum of 85% of general staff and team meetings, promoting agency image within the community.
  • Practice and promote positive peer and patient relations, developing areas of expertise in supervision and hospice nursing skills.
  • Pursue professional growth through academic and continuing education programs, adhering to all internal controls.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Florida.
  • Current State of Florida driver's license with a driving record acceptable to Community Hospice insurance carrier.
Qualifications
  • Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying.
  • Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
    • Possession of a Bachelor's degree in a health-related field.
    • Healthcare-related certification.
    • Minimum of three (3) years of Hospice Admissions experience.
  • Knowledge of:
    • Customer Services and marketing techniques.
    • Competent in computer programs and reporting.
  • Skilled at:
    • Ability to multitask.
    • Must be flexible and adaptable to change, work prioritization, and stress management.
    • Effective written and oral communications.
