We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Economics Director to join our team at the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA). As a key member of our Economics Team, you will play a critical role in leading our economic analysis and providing expert advice on complex cases.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Economics Team and provide guidance on individual cases, particularly those raising complex economic issues.
- Ensure a 'culture of economics' is maintained, where economists share information and provide analytical support to each other.
- Be accountable for ensuring the optimal allocation of economic resources across the CMA's projects.
- Represent the CMA externally and build strong relationships with counterparts, including competition and regulatory authorities, Government Departments, economic academics, and consultants.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be an excellent, senior-level competition economist with impressive academic and professional qualifications and experience. You will bring an in-depth knowledge of competition and regulatory economics and current issues in the field, as well as the authority and ability to debate economic analysis with leading academics.
