Job Title: Global Market Access Director

GlaxoSmithKline is seeking a highly skilled Global Market Access Director to join our team. As a key member of our Pricing and Market Access team, you will play a critical role in shaping the company's market access strategies and ensuring patient access to life-changing vaccines and medicines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement global pricing and market access strategies for our growth engine assets, including inhaled respiratory and GenMeds pipeline products.
  • Collaborate with regional pricing and access colleagues to address reimbursement and pricing potential for key markets, including the US, Japan, China, and Germany.
  • Design and roll-out tools, materials, and training to support Local Operating Countries (LOCs) in their market access planning, activities, and engagements.
  • Contribute to evidence generation planning and incorporate payer insights and market access expectations into global forecasting exercises.
  • Develop and manage market access plans, accounting for data, competitor, and environment evolution.
  • Collaborate with other functions, including Strategic Insights, Government Affairs, Commercial, Medical, and Region & LOC functions, to ensure a solid understanding of current markets and emerging stakeholders.
  • Represent payers and market access within the Global Brand team and the Global Medical Team.
  • Lead project management and collaborate with external partners/vendors to deliver workplans to time and within budget.
Requirements:
  • Depth of experience in Pricing and Market Access, with a proven track record of developing and managing market access strategies globally, regionally, or in key markets.
  • Knowledge of pricing policy & regulations and healthcare in key markets, ideally with respiratory and anti-infectives-specific expertise.
  • Understanding of regulatory agency requirements or policies that govern market approval and the impact on reimbursement decisions.
  • Degree qualified in Science/Medicine/Business/Health Policy/Health Economics discipline.
  • Ability to influence and clearly communicate across a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable leadership, intrapersonal, critical thinking, and analytical skills to work with a variety of groups in ensuring that the strategic direction for market access and pricing is in balance with the market as well as corporate goals.
  • Strong presentation and written skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA/Masters in scientific or economic area, e.g. Health Economics.
  • Successful in-country payer engagement and negotiation experience in priority markets (US, China, Japan, Germany).
  • Experience in respiratory disease, inhaled medications, and lifecycle management.
