Job Title: Senior Mental Health Nurse

Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust - Inclusion Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our integrated mental health and substance misuse team at HMP Long Lartin.

About the Role

As a Senior Mental Health Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing specialist mental health interventions to support individuals experiencing difficulties. You will work collaboratively with patients, carers, and team members to contribute to the delivery of an effective, dynamic, specialist mental health service.

You will be responsible for assessing individuals' needs, developing, implementing, and evaluating programmes of care. You will also identify those requiring hospital treatment and facilitate timely transfers via The Mental Health Act.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality mental health care to individuals in custody
  • Assess and develop programmes of care for individuals with mental health needs
  • Work collaboratively with patients, carers, and team members to deliver effective care
  • Identify individuals requiring hospital treatment and facilitate timely transfers
Person Specification
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Register
  • Evidence of recent CPD and compliance with NMC revalidation
  • Teaching Certificate including annual update (ENB 603) or related mentoring/coaching qualification
