The Teaching Personnel Permanent Workforce Team is collaborating with a prominent Further Education institution to recruit a new Automotive Education Instructor for the upcoming academic year.
We are eager to connect with experienced Automotive Engineers contemplating a transition into Education, as well as seasoned Instructors or Trainers who have previously taught the subject up to Level 3, whether in a College environment or on-site.
Role Overview:
As an Automotive Mechanical Educator, you will oversee your curriculum area, ensuring adherence to budgetary, quality, and operational objectives.
Your role will involve delivering high-quality, learner-centered education in a secure and supportive environment, enabling your students to thrive.
You will be responsible for planning, leading, and enhancing the curriculum area within the institution to ensure compliance with the national curriculum framework, integration of functional skills, best practices, and quality benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide engaging instruction and facilitate learning across various programs, catering to learners of diverse ages and abilities.
- Create teaching and assessment opportunities aligned with the relevant awarding body standards to promote student achievement.
- Develop and maintain educational materials, including handouts, assignments, reading lists, assessment papers, and digital resources.
- Prepare Schemes of Work and Schemes of Assessment.
- Execute necessary administrative tasks for the effective management of programs in the area.
- Conduct moderation, assessment, and verification activities.
- A teaching qualification such as a Certificate of Education or PGCE (or a commitment to pursue a relevant teaching qualification)
- Current and valid industry expertise, with experience teaching or training in the subject within the sector or an educational setting
- A minimum Level 3 occupational qualification (essential)
- English and maths at a minimum Level 2, Grade C or Grade 4 and above
