As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and enhancing the patient experience by providing excellent clinical effectiveness in a safe environment.

Your main duties will include assessing, diagnosing, treating, and evaluating abnormalities and diseases related to the foot and lower limb in people of all ages. You will also provide treatment for high-risk patient groups, such as the elderly and those with increased risk of amputation.

In addition, you will give advice and make referrals to other healthcare and social services professionals as appropriate. You will use therapeutic and surgical techniques to treat foot and lower leg issues, including carrying out nail and soft tissue surgery using local anaesthetic.

You will also use a range of equipment, including surgical instruments, dressings, treatment tables, orthotic materials, lasers, grinders, shaping equipment, x-ray, and video gait-analysis equipment.

To be successful in this role, you will need to maintain your own clinical professional development by keeping abreast of new trends, practices, and developments. You will also need to fulfill legal requirements and demonstrate clinical reasoning within documentation.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues directly involved in the delivery of healthcare and communicate effectively with medical, nursing, and allied health professional colleagues.

You will participate in staff appraisal schemes and professional development programmes and understand and apply National, Organisational, and Local Service Legislation, Policies, Procedures, and Guidance for Health and Social Care.

You will also undertake measurement and evaluation of work and current practices using Evidence-Based Practice projects and demonstrate a sound understanding of Clinical Governance and Risk Management.
