Restaurant Supervisor Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Restaurant Supervisor to join our team at Englands Grace, a renowned establishment within the Allegra Group. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing daily restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional service standards, and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures, to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Monitor dining areas and service points to maintain compliance with Food Standards Agency regulations and uphold high standards of food hygiene.
  • Maintain accurate stock levels and collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure menu availability and quality control.
  • Implement and maintain quality control standards for food and beverage service, ensuring consistency and excellence.
  • Complete due diligence documentation as required by EHO standards, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Supervise and mentor front-of-house staff, including waiting staff, hosts, and bar staff, to promote teamwork and excellence.
  • Create staff rotas to ensure adequate coverage during peak trading periods, ensuring seamless service delivery.
  • Conduct team briefings and training sessions to enhance staff knowledge and skills.
  • Support the recruitment process and conduct staff inductions to ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
  • Participate in performance reviews and disciplinary procedures to maintain a positive work environment.
  • Provide on-the-job training and development opportunities to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain floor presence during service to ensure guest satisfaction and handle guest feedback and complaints professionally and effectively.
  • Monitor table management and waiting times during busy periods to optimize service delivery.
  • Manage bookings and special events coordination to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Build rapport with regular customers to promote loyalty and retention.
  • Support the implementation of allergen awareness procedures to ensure guest safety and satisfaction.
  • Assist in managing wage costs and rota planning within budget to ensure financial efficiency.
  • Monitor KPIs and sales data to identify areas for improvement and optimize service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents and resolutions to ensure compliance and accountability.
  • Support menu development and pricing strategies to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Help implement marketing initiatives and promotional events to enhance brand visibility and customer engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and UK employment law to maintain a positive work environment.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, including Maths and English.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership (desirable).
  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in hospitality, including supervisory experience.
  • Level 2 Food Safety Certificate (desirable).
  • First Aid qualification advantageous.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in EPOS systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic understanding of P&L and budget management.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
Working Conditions:
  • Full-time position, 40-48 hours per week.
  • Flexible working pattern including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • Split shifts may be required.
