Job Summary

We are seeking an exceptional Advanced Practitioner Assistive Technology to join our team at The Children's Trust. This role requires a highly skilled professional to provide high-quality, evidence-based assistive technology services to children and young people accessing our therapy services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the provision of assistive technology interventions for children and young people attending The Children's Trust School and receiving in-patient neurorehabilitation.
  • Provide clinical leadership to the Assistive Technology Team, identifying service priorities, delivery methods, and standards of practice.
  • Conduct assessments for complex augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems.
  • Select and implement appropriate hardware, software, access, and mounting options for AAC systems.
  • Develop and implement communication and technology resources for children and young people.
  • Maintain and disseminate specialist knowledge of eye-gaze control and eye-tracking technology.
  • Develop therapy goals, plans, and methods in collaboration with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated approaches to child management.
  • Identify and utilize specialist assessments and outcome measures for children and young people receiving assistive technology interventions.

  • Experience working in a complex environment with a large and diverse workforce.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to consult and engage with stakeholders.
