We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Assistant Chef to join our team at Sanctuary Care. As an Assistant Chef, you will play a vital role in preparing high-quality meals for our residents, promoting food safety and hygiene standards, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Chef Manager in preparing and cooking meals for residents, ensuring that all dishes meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
- Monitor and maintain food safety and hygiene standards, conducting regular risk assessments and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Clean and maintain the kitchen and dining areas to a high standard, ensuring that all equipment and utensils are in good working order.
- Interact with residents, visitors, and colleagues in a friendly and approachable manner, providing excellent customer service and promoting a positive dining experience.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure that all meals are prepared and served on time, and that the kitchen is running efficiently.
Requirements:
- Experience working in a catering environment, preferably in a care home or similar setting.
- Valid food hygiene certificate, or willingness to obtain one.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, visitors, and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours and tasks.
