Medical Secretary - Bank

Spire Portsmouth Hospital is seeking a skilled Medical Secretary to join our dynamic team on a flexible basis. As a Medical Secretary, you will play a vital role in supporting our medical team, ensuring seamless communication and efficient administrative processes.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to telephone queries and allaying fears, while referring to Consultants as necessary.
  • Arrange new patient appointments and register them using our in-house database, ensuring accurate and timely information.
  • Prepare and type clinic letters, utilizing digital dictation from Consultants, and arrange follow-up appointments using electronic diaries.
  • Assist with clinic preparation, chasing results, and updating records as necessary, ensuring Consultants have the information they need.
  • Produce medical reports for Medical Insurers, maintaining patient records securely in line with Hospital Policy and the Data Protection Act.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Medical Secretary is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent telephone manner and communication skills.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is highly desirable.
  • Good administration skills and attention to detail are essential.
