About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to join our team at Barnardo's. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing holistic support to young people who have experienced mental health difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans to promote the mental wellbeing of young people and their families.
  • Build strong relationships with young people, their families, and other stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and support.
  • Provide one-to-one support, group work, and community-based interventions to address the needs of young people and their families.
  • Work closely with our team to ensure seamless delivery of services and effective case management.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of practice.
Requirements
  • Relevant experience working with young people and their families in a mental health or social care setting.
  • Strong understanding of mental health principles and practices, including trauma-informed care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meet the needs of the service.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, with a desire to stay up-to-date with best practices in mental health support.
