The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced Rail Civils Site Supervisor to join our Scotland Business Unit. This role will involve working on a variety of multi-disciplinary civil engineering projects for clients including Local Authorities, Network Rail and Environmental bodies.

Your Responsibilities

  • Ensure the Health, Safety and Welfare of employees and others under your direct control through compliance with the requirements of the Supervisors Health and Safety Responsibility Statement.
  • Implement all company and client Health &Safety and Environmental initiatives effectively.
  • Promote a continuous improvement culture and the use of best practice.
  • Lead, supervise, utilize and monitor both direct and subcontracted labor forces.
  • Deliver projects within program and budget, ensuring works are executed in accordance with:
    • All applicable legislation
    • The Terms and Conditions of the contract
    • The Contract Health and Safety Plan
    • The Contract Quality / Environmental Plan
    • The clients approved Works Package Plans and Task Briefing Sheets
    • The approved Construction Drawings and Specification
    • The Policies and Procedures contained within the Company Business Management System
  • Ensure that quality standards are achieved and maintained.
  • Monitor the progress of works to ensure contract objectives are met.
  • Manage changes to the scope of works effectively.
  • Maintain robust records, including diaries, allocation sheets, plant etc.
  • Provide formal reports on progress to the Project Manager/Site Agent.
  • Escalate any issues that cannot be resolved at site level to the Project Manager / Site Agent.
  • Identify and implement training needs for directly employed operatives under your control.

Your Profile

To excel in this role, you will have previous railway experience as a Supervisor in a civils project environment. Ideally, you will hold a valid PTS and must be able to demonstrate the requisite experience in the rail industry with associated competencies / certification as appropriate to the role.
