Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at Great Yarmouth Primary Academy. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our pupils with complex needs, including behaviour, SEND, mental health, social and emotional needs, to ensure they can thrive in mainstream education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide academic and pastoral support for pupils as required.
  • Work with pupils in a variety of formats, including group work, classroom, and one-to-one.
  • Support the teacher in delivering a modified support curriculum for pupils with complex needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans to support pupils with SEND.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective support system for pupils.
Requirements:
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills, with a minimum of GCSE (or equivalent NVQ 2 level) Maths and English.
  • NVQ 2 or equivalent in teaching assistance or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of working with vulnerable young people with SEND and mental health needs.
  • Good ICT skills and ability to use technology to support teaching and learning.
