About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Residential Care Worker to join our team at the Good Shepherd Secure Unit. As a key member of our staff, you will play a critical role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for young people who have experienced significant difficulties in their lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized care and support to young people, promoting their mental and emotional wellbeing and longer-term positive outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans that meet the unique needs of each young person.
  • Deputize for the nightshift coordinator as needed, ensuring the smooth operation of the unit.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that promote the safety and wellbeing of young people.

Requirements:

  • Experience of supporting vulnerable young people, with a strong commitment to Children's Rights.
  • Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Social Care and the Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) in Caring for Children and Young People at Level 3 or above, or equivalent qualifications recognized by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
  • Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a registered supervisor within the first six months of employment.
