Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Internal Sales Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating fast and accurate quotations for Hydrasun's precision manufactured special components. This will involve liaising with material suppliers and sub-contract machine shops to obtain the best price and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide fast and accurate estimates for price and delivery requirements, including CNC lathe times, material, tooling, and sub-contract prices.
  • Liaise with material suppliers and sub-contract machine shops to obtain the best price and delivery.
  • Accurately review customer specifications and drawings.
  • Liaise with the Aviemore and Engineering department regarding design issues.
  • Provide technical assistance to the sales department with special part enquiries.
  • Input to production schedules to allow fast response to urgent customer delivery requirements through communication with the Precision Manufacturing Division.
  • Generate accurate BOMs and Structures & Routings in the ERP system.
  • Ensure that all tasks carried out by the team meet company QMS procedures.
  • Work overtime to ensure organisational or client deadlines are met, if required.

Requirements

  • City & Guilds Engineering Certificate.
  • ONC or SVQ level 3 qualification in Engineering.
  • Experience in working in an Engineering or Manufacturing environment.
  • Oil and Gas industry knowledge.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Basic IT systems/Microsoft Office experience.
  • Ability to work to strict standards and procedures.
  • Good communications skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable.
  • Numeric skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and make decisions.
  • Ability to understand technical specifications.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • HNC/D level Engineering Qualification or Degree.
  • Experience in the operation of various types of machine shop equipment.
  • Experience in estimating P&Ds for machined components.
  • Experience in the operation of various types of machine shop equipment.
  • Experience/knowledge of Stainless Steel and 'exotic' components.
  • Previous ERP system experience.
  • Awareness of Pressure Equipment Directive.
  • Experience with Safe Working Pressure calculations.
  • Experience of using Inventor or other CAD system.
