Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electro-Mechanical Engineer to join our team at KNAPP. As a Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing electro-mechanical equipment in a warehouse environment. This is a challenging role that requires a strong understanding of electro-mechanical systems and a proven track record of troubleshooting and resolving complex issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electro-mechanical equipment, including mechanical strip-down and re-assembly, basic field wiring, and system testing.
  • Conduct daily maintenance of site material handling equipment (MHE) to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Manage time effectively using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to achieve high utilization rates.
  • Continuously improve equipment performance and efficiency through proactive maintenance and repair.
  • Work efficiently to complete reactive repairs within tight timeframes.
  • Communicate effectively with on-site management to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Service and repair installed products, demonstrating a strong ownership mentality to resolve issues quickly.
  • Interpret electrical circuit diagrams and work with 415V motor controls.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Utilize mechanical aptitude to read assembly drawings and assemble parts onto equipment.
  • Operate hand tools and follow setup instructions, assembly drawings, and checklists.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and exceptional follow-up skills.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understand control systems and be willing to learn and adapt to changing role requirements.
  • Appreciate cultural diversity and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Present KPI-based monthly reviews to key stakeholders.

Requirements

  • NVQ/BTEC/C&G Level 3 in an Electro-Mechanical Engineering discipline.
  • Understanding of Non-Destructive Technologies and Testing.
  • Understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and their function.
  • Pneumatic and Hydraulic knowledge beneficial.
  • Computer literacy with basic Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience with CMMS systems and engineering stores.
  • HNC/HND equivalent desirable.
