HGV Mechanic opportunity available. Our client, a leader in the waste management sector with over three decades of expertise, is seeking a skilled HGV Service Engineer to join their expanding team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a diverse fleet of vehicles, including tippers and plant machinery such as grab lorries, roll-off tippers, 8-wheelers, dumpers, and skip lorries. Experience with mini diggers, large excavators, screeners, and crushers is a plus, though not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct daytime service shifts for various trucks, specifically HGV models like Volvo and Renault.
- Perform servicing and diagnostics on 8-wheeler tippers.
- Carry out vehicle inspections every six weeks.
- Execute brake tests every twelve weeks.
- Utilize diagnostic tools effectively.
- Primarily workshop-based with occasional roadside breakdown assistance.
- Service a variety of vehicles, including grab lorries and roll-off tippers, with a focus on quality and safety.
- A minimum of three years of experience in a relevant field, with essential HGV experience.
- Qualifications or training in Heavy Plant or Mechanical disciplines are advantageous.
- Ability to operate HGVs or Heavy Plant equipment is a plus.
- Possession of HGV Class 1 or 2 licenses is beneficial.
