We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our paediatric team within the Children's Unit at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our young patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in creating a welcoming and non-threatening environment for children and their families.
- Support patient care according to individual care plans and under the supervision of trained staff.
- Carry out delegated nursing tasks, subject to monitoring and evaluation by senior staff.
- Contribute to the wellbeing of patients, ensuring their comfort and dignity are maintained.
- Deliver food and drinks to babies and children in line with their care plans, including making up infant formula feeds.
- Escort patients to other departments in the hospital and regional centres for investigations as required.
- Assist in ensuring a high level of quality care is offered to patients attending the department.
- Work collaboratively as part of the healthcare team.
- GCSE or equivalent in English Language and Maths, or demonstrate competency in these areas.
- NVQ Level 2 in Care (or other relevant subject).
- Desire and ability to undertake appropriate training.
- Evidence of working with babies/children and young people.
- Good understanding of the role of the Healthcare Support Worker.
