About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Years Teaching Assistant to join our team at a small primary school in South Liverpool. As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will be working 1:1 with a child who has autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and will be responsible for assisting the child's communication, social skills, and emotional regulation in and out of the primary school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the child's communication, social skills, and emotional regulation in and out of the primary school
  • Work closely with the primary school manager and the SENCO to plan and deliver personalised and fun activities that meet the child's needs and goals
  • Communicate with the child's parents and external agencies to ensure the child's progress and well-being
Requirements
  • A relevant qualification in teaching assistant, childcare, or education (e.g. NVQ, CACHE, BTEC, etc.)
  • Experience of working with children with ASD, preferably in an early years setting
  • Knowledge of the EYFS and the SEN code of practice
  • Skills in communication, literacy, numeracy, and ICT
  • Attributes such as patience, empathy, creativity, and flexibility
