Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated and skilled Specialty Doctor to join our esteemed ophthalmology team.

As a Specialty Doctor, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive eye care to patients across a diverse range of conditions. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of ophthalmologists, nurses, and support staff to deliver high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert clinical assessment and management of patients with various eye diseases and conditions.
  • Perform a wide range of ophthalmic procedures, including minor surgery and diagnostic tests.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Participate in teaching and training activities for junior doctors and nurses.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
Essential Requirements:
  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice medicine in the UK.
  • Completion of specialist training in ophthalmology or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise and experience in managing a wide range of ophthalmic conditions.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
Desirable Requirements:
  • Membership of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (RCOphth).
  • Experience in subspecialty areas of ophthalmology.
  • Commitment to continuing professional development.
