We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team at Empowering Learning. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with social and emotional needs (SEMH) in our enhanced resource unit.
Main Responsibilities:- Work in our school's enhanced resource unit to provide individualized support to pupils with SEMH
- Lead academic interventions with children working below age expected levels
- Support pupils with social and emotional needs through positive communication and teamwork
- Manage challenging behaviors of targeted individuals
- Ability to build relationships with pupils who present with SEMH
- At least one year's experience working in a school (voluntary or placements acceptable)
- Excellent classroom control and behavior management
- Effective communication with pupils and colleagues
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Positive role model for children
