About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Maintenance Coordinator to join our team at Northgate Vehicle Hire. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our fleet of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively manage all service maintenance and repair events to minimize downtime and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Handle customer and supplier contacts to provide updates, resolve defects, and authorize repairs.
  • Monitor and manage costs associated with service, maintenance, and repairs, escalating issues and challenging costs as necessary.
  • Verify documentation and ensure that unplanned maintenance events are captured and managed to conclusion.
  • Identify and escalate potential delays and issues to manufacturers, suppliers, or management for support and advice.
  • Chase up vehicles and authorize work within set service level agreements.
  • Ensure all associated administration is completed to a high standard, including raising invoices and order numbers.
  • Liaise with clients, manufacturers, dealers, internal workshops, and suppliers to ensure repairs are carried out in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Requirements

  • Computer literacy and effective communication skills to interact with team members, customers, and suppliers.
  • Technical knowledge up to NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Motor Vehicle Mechanics, with workshop experience.
  • Ability to understand technical work required and timeframes needed to complete.
  • Excellent technical knowledge gained in a workshop environment, with the ability to interact at all levels.
  • Experience and knowledge of fleet compliance would be beneficial.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive and detail-oriented, with the ability to work as part of a team and independently.
