We are pleased to announce a new opening for a Lead Civil Engineer at Morson Talent.
Position Overview:
The Lead Civil Engineer will be responsible for overseeing engineering operations and will report directly to the Area Lead Engineer and the Engineering Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and guide a team of engineers, ensuring that workloads align with budgetary and scheduling requirements.
- Provide essential engineering support to construction and commissioning teams in line with planned activities.
- Foster and maintain effective relationships with the design team and construction personnel to facilitate prompt resolution of technical challenges.
- Address technical inquiries, product permits, and non-conformances swiftly as they arise during construction.
- Engage daily with construction teams to ensure adherence to engineering designs as outlined in specifications.
- Generate and verify structural calculations, technical reports, and necessary details for site modifications.
- Review contractor submissions including method statements and inspection plans.
- Participate in site inspections, meetings, and project reviews as required.
Essential Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering, ideally with Chartered status (MIStructE or MICE).
- Experience in the nuclear sector is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Proactive, self-motivated individual with strong communication and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with CDM Regulations and responsibilities as a Designer.
Technical Proficiencies:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, STAAD-Pro, Tedds, and Navisworks.
